Lockout Feature: The lockout feature is used if meeting times of particular courses and sections are to be forced to conflict in order to accomplish special scheduling conditions.

Class Resource Ties: Class resource ties enable the scheduler to tie two unique sections of two different courses together. If a student is assigned to a particular section of Economics, you may want him to be in a particular section of Government for next semester. Class ties are identified through the Master Schedule input screen.

Class Ties: At times it may be desirable for a school to ‘tie’ sections of different courses so that students will be scheduled to particular sets of classes. Once a student has been assigned to a section of a course having some specific ‘tie’, the student is limited to classes of the remaining courses involved in that particular tie.

Lockouts: The times which certain courses are scheduled in relation to one another may produce a situation which is undesirable to the school district. Common examples are:
1. A school may not want students scheduled to go to gym immediately after their lunch period.
2. A school may schedule ‘mods’ instead of full periods around lunch and may want to avoid certain combination’s of class which would allow a student to be free for a ‘mod’ instead of a full period.
3. A school may desire students to be scheduled into any section of a science class and a lab as long as it is with the same teacher for both classes.
4. A school allows students to pick two twenty-week English courses, from a list of eight or ten, with one course to be assigned each semester, not both in the same semester.

Student Teaming / Blocking
Student Teaming or Blocking can be accomplished in several different ways, depending on how students are placed on a team and if the students are to travel from class to class as a group.
